Why we were robbed of an Amy Winehouse James Bond theme tune

James Bond mogul Barbara Broccoli has opened up about the 'distressing' meeting she had with Amy Winehouse in 2008. 

Babs met with Amy to discuss the singer writing and performing the song for Quantum of Solace.

"That was a very, very distressing meeting", she recalled. 

 

"She was not at her best, and my heart really went out to her. She was very fragile emotionally, and you know, you understood how she could create such moving material because she has a great depth of feeling, and it was very, very tragic".

 

"What an incredible talent; what an incredible voice; what an incredible person she was. And it was very, very sad". 

The song for the 22nd entry to the 007 franchise was handed to Jack White and Alicia Keys. But Another Way to Die is not a fan favourite. 

Amy died from an alcohol overdose in July 2011.
