"Hold your breath — throw sh*t again"

Concertgoers throwing things on the stage is nothing new. After George Harrison revealed his favourite sweets were Jelly Babies in 1963, the Fab Four would get pelted with them.

Ringo Starr even made Lennon and McCartney change the lyrics to With a Little Help from My Friends after The Beatles quit touring in 1966.

"The song was written specifically for me, but they had one line that I wouldn't sing", the drummer recalled.

"It was 'What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and throw tomatoes at me?'

"I said, 'There's not a chance in hell I will sing this line. We still had lots of really deep memories of the kids throwing jelly beans and toys on stage. I thought that if we ever did get out there again, I was not going to be bombarded with tomatoes".

Adele has addressed recent incidents involving audiences hurling objects at artists. Most prominently, American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha got hit in the face with a mobile phone in New York City.

The James Bond theme tune artist had advice for anyone thinking about throwing something at her: Don't.

"Have you noticed how people are, like, forgetting f*cking show etiquette at the moment?" she asked the crowd at a recent  Las Vegas show.

"People are throwing sh*t on stage. Have you seen them?" I f*cking dare you. Dare you throw something at me, and I'll f*cking kill you."

Adele delivered this message while holding a gun that fires out T-shirts to the audience.

A bit rich.
